History
When a serious illness in 1991 threatened to end his life, Dr. Ulan tried every treatment modality available at that time to get well.
As a practicing chiropractor and crusading health reformer since 1965, he knew where to look and exactly what was out there. No system he tried could cure him, or even arrest his decline. Months of trial and error with supplements were not an option. His survival literally depended on how quickly he could discover the body’s priorities and how quickly and precisely he could handle them.
Building on his knowledge of the great healing pioneers—such luminaries as D.D. Palmer; Royal Lee, DDS; Weston A. Price, DDS; Francis M. Pottenger, Jr., MD; Melvin E. Page, DDS; and George J. Goodheart, Jr., DC—he accomplished this seemingly impossible task. Having done it for himself, he turned his now-revitalized energies and resources to getting others on the road to wellness.
Soon, while located in a small town in upstate New York, just south of Lake George, his all-cash and entirely referral-based practice was on the map—globally. With patients flying in from Southern California, Korea, Germany, South America—and even from South Florida in the middle of the winter—he knew he couldn’t do it all himself. He recognized as his calling, and his duty, the training of other practitioners to duplicate his success.
His clinical breakthroughs, systematized and documented, were the foundation of that success. But without a comparably advanced approach to patient management, the fabulous results of Nutrition Response Testing would still be available to only a few. In addition to weekend seminars delivered all over the country for Standard Process, he developed a turn-key system of nutritional patient management and offered it as a weekend workshop in his Glens Falls office.
Where We Are Today
While Dr. Ulan continued to practice and resolve all types of cases, the training activity took on a life of its own—and outgrew his capacity to deliver. His management consultant, Peter Buckles—now Master Consultant of Ulan Nutritional Systems—persuaded him that the next step was to turn over his practice to an associate and build a training center in a slightly warmer climate.
Modest in its initial conception, that training center has evolved into what could be called a post-graduate college of Advanced Chiropractic Nutrition.
It started with the Practice Growth Acceleration Modules, a series of weekend seminars designed to remove three key non-clinical barriers to nutritional practice success. Graduates reported startling growth in their practices—generating a great demand for the clinical tools necessary to resolve the broad spectrum of cases they now encountered.
Dr. Ulan responded with characteristic thoroughness, introducing an intermediate-level course, now referred to simply as the Nutrition Response Testing Workshop. This intensive hands-on “boot camp” weekend teaches practitioners to perform the 13 steps of Nutrition Response Testing analysis—and be using them effectively in their practices the following Monday!
Subsequently he codified a systematic route to Clinical Mastery including personal enhancement for the practitioner, extensive drilling in the patient management system, the 72-hour Professional Level Clinical Training, the 72-hour postgraduate-level Advanced Clinical Training program, and a full catalog of Practice Management modules tailored to the individual priorities of each practice.
The work is complete, the route streamlined, and our doors are open to all who have the basic qualifications to practice nutrition and the determination to take on the challenge of restoring the wellness of their patients and communities.
